Holiday Inn Parkway East
On Christmas Eve, the Holiday Inn Parkway East experienced a major water loss when two stand pipes in both stairwells ruptured on the 11th floor, flooding the entire hotel. The hotel suffered severe water damage to all the common areas as well as many of the hotel rooms.
ServiceMaster by Mistick arrived on the scene while the fire department was still onsite evacuating the building. ServiceMaster by Mistick was given permission to enter the hotel to begin work at 10:00 am. By 11:00 am, our project manager was walking through the hotel conducting an assessment on each room. By 1:00 p.m., a crew of 30 were working to clean up ceiling tiles and by 4:30 p.m., electricity was set up in the hotel so crews could work through the night.
With no power, the crews pulled drying equipment and vacuums up eleven flights of stairs. After the water extraction was complete, the team began all of the logistics of removing furniture, drapes, carpeting and wallpaper while working closely with the owner and adjustors.
Our crews worked around the clock to mitigate the damages and with the hotel staff to relocate guests, notify other staff members and assist with public relations.
